New video highlights how local people are helping to shape Data into Action

A new video highlights how patients, carers and members of the public are helping to shape the Data into Action programme in Cheshire and Merseyside.
The video focuses on the Data into Action Patient and Public Advisory Group, which brings together local residents to share their views on how health and care data is used safely, responsibly and for public benefit.
Data into Action is a programme of work that uses health and care information to help improve services, support research, and make better use of data across Cheshire and Merseyside.
The Patient and Public Advisory Group plays an important role in making sure public voices are included as the programme develops. Members provide independent advice and challenge, helping the programme team understand what matters to patients, carers and local communities.
The group also helps advise on public engagement plans, discuss priorities and concerns relating to health data use, review public-facing materials, and identify where patient and public involvement could be strengthened.
In the new video, members of the group talk about why they got involved, what they bring to the conversation, and why it is important for local people to have a say in how health and care data is used.
The video also features colleagues from the Data into Action programme, who explain how the group supports the programme’s commitment to listening to and working with local communities.
